It’s not all doom and GLOOM

August 26th, 2008

Although most of us will be stuck with massively hiked gas and electricity charges from now on there are still some winners (apart from Gulpy Brown getting increased tax takes from the various power companies as they continue to make their exhorbitant profits). I was thinking of that set of misunderstood workers - our burglars.
They have sometimes had a bad time of it - people not liking their property stolen and so on yet of course burglars have to make a living like the rest of us but they get really bad press. However the winter time will help them out - after all instead of breaking into just any old house and hoping the owners are still well off enough to have items worth stealing now all they have to do is to see if the house owner is rich enough that he/they/she can still afford to have their electric lights on. This will be much more efficient and save said burglars from wasting their time and effort.

Whilst sat on the loo this morning…

August 13th, 2008

.. my wife shouts out that there is going to be another buy-election in Scotland and wondered whether when Gulpy and his crowd lost that he would at last quit and leave us alone in England. This - as things do of course and additionaly in view of what I was sat doing - made me think of the Blair. He has not been knighted yet or whatever - perhaps nobody could think of a title for him.

It did not take more than a few seconds though - it has to be “Lord Pinnochio”

Our English topics have around 20 walks described mainly centred around The Chilterns - using National Trails like The Ridgeway and The Oxfordshire Way as well as several walks along The Grand Union and Oxford Canals. We also have 100s of photos of English Churches and English Wild Flowers. New Zealand Following a long holiday in beautiful New Zealand there are pages of information (and many photos) about travelling on both North and South Islands - glaciers, thermal areas, tramping trails and so on.
Greek and Canary Islands Greek Islands are our favourite destinations abroad - we have around 20 Greek Islands described - travelling and holiday information as well as lots of walks, beach guides and many photos. There are similar holiday guides for the Canary Islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
